How to Send a Drawing for Quote
A complete RFQ helps Partform and our Qingdao partners quote accurately on first review. Include geometry, material, quantity, and critical requirements in your submission.
Recommended file formats
- STEP (.step / .stp) — preferred for CNC and complex machined parts
- PDF drawing — include dimensions, tolerances, and notes
- IGES (.iges / .igs) — accepted for many CAD systems
- DXF — suitable for flat sheet metal layouts
If you cannot upload via the RFQ form, email files to quotes@partform.com.
Include in every RFQ
- Part name and revision
- Material and hardness (if applicable)
- Quantity (prototype and annual if known)
- Critical tolerances and mating interfaces
- Surface finish or coating requirements
- Destination country (NZ, AU, or other)
Tolerance and inspection
Call out datums, press-fit diameters, and sealing surfaces explicitly. If inspection reports or first-article approval is required, note this at quote stage.
What happens next
Partform reviews manufacturability with Qingdao partners, confirms process route, and returns a NZ/AU-facing quote with lead time. Sample approval can be scheduled before production when needed.
